Russian student squads keep in touch with generations and meet at annual all-Russian gatherings, district schools and spartakiads, and creative festivals. In addition to work in the summer labor term, student squads throughout the year organize and participate in actions at the all-Russian, district and regional levels. Actions are created to help children, veterans and other disadvantaged segments of the population. The main tasks of student squads are: employment of students and graduates of educational institutions as well as assistance in the formation of a personnel reserve.
